135Swyddogaethau a gweithdrefnau Byrddau Diogelu

(1)Amcanion Bwrdd Diogelu Plant yw—
(a)amddiffyn plant o fewn ei ardal sy’n cael, neu sy’n wynebu risg o gael, eu cam-drin, eu hesgeuluso, neu ddioddef mathau eraill o niwed, a
(b)atal plant o fewn ei ardal rhag dod yn rhai sy’n wynebu risg o gael eu cam-drin, eu hesgeuluso neu ddioddef mathau eraill o niwed.
(2)Amcanion Bwrdd Diogelu Oedolion yw—
(a)amddiffyn oedolion o fewn ei ardal—
(i)y mae arnynt anghenion am ofal a chymorth (p’un a yw awdurdod lleol yn diwallu unrhyw un neu rai o’r anghenion hynny ai peidio), a
(ii)sy’n cael, neu sy’n wynebu risg o gael, eu cam-drin neu eu hesgeuluso, a
(b)atal yr oedolion hynny o fewn ei ardal y soniwyd amdanynt ym mharagraff (a)(i) rhag dod yn rhai sy’n wynebu risg o gael eu cam-drin neu eu hesgeuluso.
(3)Rhaid i Fwrdd Diogelu geisio sicrhau ei amcanion drwy gydgysylltu’r hyn a wneir gan bob person neu gorff a gynrychiolir ar y Bwrdd a gwneud yn siŵr ei fod yn effeithiol.
(4)Rhaid i reoliadau—
(a)darparu i Fwrdd Diogelu gael swyddogaethau sy’n ymwneud â’i amcanion (gan gynnwys, er enghraifft, swyddogaethau adolygu neu ymchwilio);
(b)gwneud darpariaeth ynghylch y gweithdrefnau sydd i’w dilyn gan Fwrdd Diogelu;
(c)pennu pryd a sut y mae’n rhaid i blant neu oedolion y mae swyddogaethau Bwrdd Diogelu yn effeithio arnynt, neu y gallent effeithio arnynt gael cyfle i gymryd rhan yng ngwaith y Bwrdd.
(5)Caiff Bwrdd Diogelu gydweithredu ag un neu fwy o Fyrddau Diogelu eraill.
(6)Caiff Bwrdd Diogelu weithredu ar y cyd ag un neu fwy o Fyrddau Diogelu eraill mewn perthynas â’u hardaloedd cyfun ac os byddant yn gwneud hynny—
(a)mae cyfeiriadau yn y Rhan hon at Fwrdd Diogelu i’w darllen fel cyfeiriadau at y Byrddau sy’n gweithredu ar y cyd, a
(b)mae cyfeiriadau yn y Rhan hon at ardal Bwrdd Diogelu i’w darllen fel cyfeiriadau at yr ardal gyfun.
(7)Caiff y Bwrdd Diogelu Plant a’r Bwrdd Diogelu Oedolion ar gyfer ardal ffurfio cyd-fwrdd ar gyfer yr ardal, ac os ydynt yn gwneud hynny—
(a)mae’r cyd-fwrdd i gael yr amcanion yn is-adrannau (1) a (2), a
(b)mae cyfeiriadau yn y Rhan hon at Fwrdd Diogelu i’w darllen fel cyfeiriadau at y cyd-fwrdd.
