The Foster Children (Scotland) Act 1984 is amended as follows.

In section 2(2)(d) (children who are not foster children), for the words from “nursing home" to the end there is substituted “
accommodation provided by a care home service registered under Part 1 of the Regulation of Care (Scotland) Act 2001 (asp 8)
”

In section 21(1) (interpretation)—
a
at the appropriate place there is inserted—
“care home service” has the meaning given by section 2(3) of the Regulation of Care (Scotland) Act 2001 (asp 8);
and
b
in the definition of “place of safety" for the words from “means" to the end there is substituted “
has the meaning given by section 93(1) of the Children (Scotland) Act 1995 (c.36)
