The Scottish Ministers may, for the purpose of any of their functions under this Act, direct the holding of such public inquiries as they think fit.

Subsections (2) to (8) of section 210 (local inquiries) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 (c. 65) apply in relation to any such inquiry.
