The council constituted under section 2 of the Local Government etc. (Scotland) Act 1994 (c. 39) for a local government area shall be the fire and rescue authority for that area.

In subsection (1), “local government area” has, subject to subsection (3), the same meaning as in that Act.

If a local government area extends into the sea, its seaward boundary shall, for the purpose of subsection (1), be the low water mark.
