The 2004 Act is amended as follows.

In section 214 (general conditions in relation to recognition of overseas relationships)—
a
after paragraph (b) insert—
ba
the relationship is not one of marriage,
b
in paragraph (c), for the words from the second “or” to the end substitute “
but are not treated as married
”
.

In schedule 20 to the 2004 Act (specified relationships), the following entries are repealed—
