6.The Act has two main purposes. The first is to specify religion in the Schedule to the 1920 Act as a topic in respect of which particulars may be required in Scotland. The second is to provide that no person shall be liable to a penalty under subsection (1) of section 8 of the 1920 Act for refusing or neglecting to state any particulars in respect of religion.
