The Police and Justice Act 2006 (Commencement No. 2) (Wales) Order 2009

The Welsh Ministers, in exercise of the powers conferred on the National Assembly for Wales by section 53(6) of the Police and Justice Act 2006(1) and now vested in them(2), make the following Order:

Title and application

1.—(1) The title of this Order is the Police and Justice Act 2006 (Commencement No. 2) (Wales) Order 2009.

(2) This Order applies in relation to Wales.

Commencement

2.  The following provisions of the Police and Justice Act 2006, in so far as they relate to Wales, come into force on 1 October 2009—

(a)section 19 (local authority scrutiny of crime and disorder matters);

(b)section 20 (guidance and regulations regarding crime and disorder matters); and

(c)Schedule 8 (further provision about crime and disorder committees of certain local authorities).

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order brings into force on 1 October 2009, in so far as they relate to Wales, sections 19 and 20 of the Police and Justice Act 2006 (“the 2006 Act”) which relate to the establishment of crime and disorder committees of local authorities, and Schedule 8 of the 2006 Act which sets out further provision about crime and disorder committees of certain local authorities.
