The Dissolution of the Independent Broadcasting Authority Order 2003

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred upon her by section 127(3) and (6) of the Broadcasting Act 1990 (1), and having consulted the Independent Broadcasting Authority, the Independent Television Commission, the Radio Authority and National Transcommunications Limited, hereby makes the following Order:

1.  This Order may be cited as the Dissolution of the Independent Broadcasting Authority Order 2003.

2.  The Independent Broadcasting Authority are hereby dissolved with effect from 2nd October 2003.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

The property, rights and liabilities of the Independent Broadcasting Authority were divided between the Independent Television Commission, the Radio Authority and National Transcommunications Limited on 1 January 1991. The Secretary of State having satisfied herself, after consulting the Independent Broadcasting Authority, the Independent Television Commission, the Radio Authority and National Transcommunications Limited, that nothing further remains to be done by the Independent Broadcasting Authority by virtue of Schedule 9 to the Broadcasting Act 1990, dissolves the Independent Broadcasting Authority by means of this Order.
