Transitional provision
3. On and after 1st January 2009 and until the coming into force of paragraph 10 of Schedule 1 to the Medical Act 1983 (Amendment) Order 2002(1) (which substitutes the definition of “registered medical practitioner” in the Interpretation Act 1978(2) for a new definition encompassing the holding of a licence to practise), paragraph 1A of Schedule 1 to the Medical Act 1983(3) (which relates to membership of the General Medical Council) shall apply as if sub-paragraph (1)(a)(ii) were omitted.
