17Display and publication, etc. of fares

Subject to such exceptions as may be prescribed, rates, fares or charges shall be displayed, in such form and in such manner as may be prescribed—
a
in a taxi; and
b
at any operating centre to which any member of the public has access and at which taxi bookings are accepted for or in respect of that taxi.

Subject to such exceptions as may be prescribed, changes to rates, fares or charges shall be notified to the Department within such time in advance of the changes and in such manner as may be prescribed.

The Department may make regulations securing the due publication of rates, fares or charges.

A person who contravenes subsection (1) or (2) or any provision of regulations made under this section is guilty of an offence.
