Title and commencementN.I.
1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Road Traffic, Transport and Roads (Northern Ireland) Order 1984.
(2) Except for Article 18 and Schedule 2, this Order shall come into operation on the expiration of two months from the day on which it is made.
(3) Article 18 and Schedule 2 shall come into operation on such day as the Head of the Department may by order appointF1.

InterpretationN.I.
2.—(1) The [1954 c. 33 (N.I.)] Interpretation Act (Northern Ireland) 1954 shall apply to Article 1 and the following provisions of this Order as it applies to a Measure of the Northern Ireland Assembly.
(2) In this Order—
“the Act of 1967” means the [1967 c. 37 (N.I.)] Transport Act (Northern Ireland) 1967;
“the Order of 1981” means the [1981 NI 1] Road Traffic (Northern Ireland) Order 1981.
