HEALTH AND PERSONAL SOCIAL SERVICES

The Department of Health and Social Services, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Article 32(3) and (4) of the Health Services (Primary Care) (Northern Ireland) Order 1997(1) and of all other powers enabling it in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Health and Personal Social Services (Northern Ireland) Order 1972 (Amendment) Order (Northern Ireland) 1999 and shall come into operation on 23rd February 1999.
2. Article 98(1) of the Health and Personal Social Services (Northern Ireland) Order 1972(2) shall be amended as follows–
(a)after “the 1991 Order” there shall be inserted “or the Health Services (Primary Care) (Northern Ireland) Order 1997”; and
(b)after “this Order”, in the second place where those words occur, there shall be inserted “or the Health Services (Primary Care) (Northern Ireland) Order 1997”.

This Order amends Article 98 of the Health and Personal Social Services (Northern Ireland) Order 1972 (“the 1972 Order”) so as to provide that dental services under the Health Services (Primary Care) (Northern Ireland) Order 1997 (“the 1997 Order”) shall be free of charge except where any provision contained in or made under the 1972 Order or the 1997 Order expressly provides for the making and recovery of charges.
