The Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Article 3(2) of the Health and Personal Social Services (Northern Ireland) Order 1994(1) and of all other powers enabling it in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations:
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Health and Social Services Trusts (Exercise of Functions) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2003 and shall come into operation on 31st March 2003.
2. The Schedule to the Health and Social Services Trusts (Exercise of Functions) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1994(2) shall be amended as follows –
(a)in the first column (Statutory Provision) there shall be inserted at the end the words “Carers and Direct Payments Act (Northern Ireland) 2002(3)”; and
(b)in the second column (Relevant Functions of a Health and Social Services Board) there shall be added at the end the words “All Functions”.

These Regulations, which amend the Health and Social Services Trusts (Exercise of Functions) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1994, extend the list of Relevant Functions of a Health and Social Services Board to include all functions under the Carers and Direct Payments Act (Northern Ireland) 2002.
