The Office of the First Minister and deputy First Minister, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Article 1(3) of the Commissioner for Children and Young People (Northern Ireland) Order 2003(1) and of all other powers enabling it in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Commissioner for Children and Young People (2003 Order) (Commencement) Order (Northern Ireland) 2003.
2. The day appointed for the coming into operation of Articles 6 to 27 of, and Schedule 3 to, the Commissioner for Children and Young People (Northern Ireland) Order 2003 is 1st October 2003.

This Order brings into operation on 1st October 2003 Articles 6 to 27 of and Schedule 3 to the Commissioner for Children and Young People (Northern Ireland) Order 2003 (“the Order”), which provide for the aim and functions of, and the conduct of formal investigations by, the Commissioner for Children and Young People; the review of the Order; and other supplementary provisions.
