Citation and commencement

1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Public Service Vehicles (Licence Fees) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2003 and shall come into operation on 1st April 2003.

Amendment of the Public Service Vehicles Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1985

2.  In the Public Service Vehicles Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1985(3) for Schedule 7 there shall be substituted –

Regulations 4A(1), 5(3), 9(2), (3), (5) and (6),and 12(1)

Revocation

3.  The Public Service Vehicles (Licence Fees) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2002(4) is hereby revoked.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Regulations.)

These Regulations amend the Public Service Vehicles Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1985 by increasing some of the fees payable –

(1) For an initial application for a vehicle licence (regulation 5(3)) the following fees have increased –

(a)Buses –

• Class I, II and III, from £60·50 to £63·50;

• Class IA, from £72·00 to £75·00;

• Class IIA, from £83·50 to £86·50; and

• Class IIIA, from £94·00 to £97·50;

(b)Taxi, from £38·50 to £61·50.

(2) For a re-application for a vehicle licence (regulation 9(2)) the following fees have increased –

(a)Buses –

• Class I, II and III from £60·50 to £63·50;

• Class IA, from £72·00 to £75·00;

• Class IIA, from £83·50 to £86·50; and

• Class IIIA, from £94·00 to £97·50;

(b)Taxi, from £38·50 to £61·50.

(3) For a re-application for a vehicle licence made within 21 days from the date of the service of the notice of refusal (regulation 9(3)) the following fee has increased –

(a)Taxi, an increase from £16·50 to £18·50.

(4) All other fees remain unchanged.

The Public Service Vehicles (Licence Fees) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2002 are revoked.
