The Department for Employment and Learning, in exercise of the powers conferred by Article 11(3) of the Industrial Tribunals (Northern Ireland) Order 19961 and now vested in it2, and of every other power enabling it in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement1

This Order may be cited as the Industrial Tribunals (Increase of Maximum Deposit) Order (Northern Ireland) 2004 and shall come into operation on 2nd April 2004.

Increase of maximum deposit2

For the sum specified in Article 11(2)(a) of the Industrial Tribunals (Northern Ireland) Order 1996 there is substituted the sum of £500.

Article 11(3) of the Industrial Tribunals (Northern Ireland) Order 1996 gives the Department for Employment and Learning power by order to substitute for the sum specified in Article 11(2)(a) of that Order such other sum as is specified in the order. The sum is the maximum amount which an industrial tribunal may be authorised to require a party to proceedings to pay by way of deposit, if that party wishes to continue to participate in those proceedings following a pre-hearing review.

This Order increases the sum specified in Article 11(2)(a) of the Industrial Tribunals (Northern Ireland) Order 1996 from £150 to £500.
