Coming into operation
The Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety makes the following order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 30(3) of the Health and Social Care (Reform) Act (Northern Ireland) 20091:
Citation, commencement and interpretation1

This order may be cited as the Health and Social Care (Reform) (2009 Act) (Transitional Provisions) Order (Northern Ireland) 2009 and shall come into operation on 1st April 2009.

In this order—
“the Reform Act” means the Health and Social Care (Reform) Act (Northern Ireland) 2009.
Transitional provisions2
Any committee appointed by a Health and Social Services Board under paragraph 8 of Schedule 1 to the Order of 1972 before 1st April 2009—
a
shall continue in existence as if the Reform Act had not been made, until the conclusion of all proceedings—
i
before the committee by virtue of paragraph 8(5) of Schedule 1 to the Order of 1972 and commenced before 1st April 2009; or
ii
before the committee by virtue of paragraph 7(1)(b) of Schedule 1 to the Reform Act and commenced before 1st October 2009; and
b
shall not exercise any functions in relation to any proceedings commenced on or after 1st October 2009.
