The Department of Finance and Personnel makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 20(2) of the Presumption of Death Act (Northern Ireland) 2009(1).
1. This Order may be cited as the Presumption of Death (2009 Act) (Commencement) Order (Northern Ireland) 2009.
2. In so far as not already in operation, the Presumption of Death Act (Northern Ireland) 2009 shall come into operation on 9th November 2009.

This Order brings into operation on 9th November 2009 the provisions of the Presumption of Death Act (Northern Ireland) 2009 not already in operation.
The following provisions of the Act came into operation one month after the day (2 July 2009) on which the Act received Royal Assent: sections 8, 9(1), 11(5), 13, 16, 17, 18, 20 and 21.
