The Department of Finance and Personnel makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 19(1) of the Rates (Amendment) Act (Northern Ireland) 2009(1).
Citation and interpretation
1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Rates (Amendment) (2009 Act) (Commencement No.1) Order (Northern Ireland) 2009.
(2) In this Order “the 2009 Act” means the Rates (Amendment) Act (Northern Ireland) 2009.
Appointed days
2.—(1) 23rd November 2009 is the day appointed for the coming into operation of the provisions of the 2009 Act listed in Schedule 1.
(2) 14th December 2009 is the day appointed for the coming into operation of the provisions of the 2009 Act listed in Schedule 2.

the entries relating to Article 39A(4) of, and Schedule 9A to, the Rates (Northern Ireland) Order 1977(2) the entries relating to Article 5 of, and Schedule 1 to, the Rates (Amendment) (Northern Ireland) Order 1998(3) the entry relating to the Postal Services Act 2000(4) the entry relating to the Rates (Amendment) (Northern Ireland) Order 2004(5) the entry relating to Schedule 2 to the Rates (Amendment) (Northern Ireland) Order 2006(6) but only in so far as the repeal of paragraph 47 of that Schedule is concerned. |

(a)listed in Schedule 1 to this Order, on 23rd November 2009;
(b)listed in Schedule 2 to this Order, on 14th December 2009.
