The Supervision and Treatment Orders (Maximum Period) Order (Northern Ireland) 2011

The Department of Justice makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by paragraph 1(2) and (3) of Schedule 2A to the Mental Health (Northern Ireland) Order 1986 (1) and now invested in it (2).

S.I. 1986/595 (N.I. 4). Schedule 2A was inserted by Article 51(4) of, and Schedule 4 to, the Criminal Justice (Northern Ireland) Order 1996 (S.I. 1996/3160 (N.I. 24)).

Article 4(1) of, and paragraph 11 of Schedule 1 to, the Northern Ireland Act 1998 (Devolution of Policing and Justice Functions) Order 2010 (S.I. 2010/976) transferred functions of the Secretary of State under the Mental Health (Northern Ireland) Order 1986 to the Department of Justice.
