This Order brings into operation the following provisions of the Welfare Reform Act (Northern Ireland) 2010—
section 26(1) (contracting out functions under Jobseekers (Northern Ireland) Order 1995) in so far as it relates to certain provisions in section 26(2) below, and
section 26(2) (contracting out), in so far as it is necessary in relation to regulations to enable the Department’s and the Department for Employment and Learning’s functions under regulations under Article 19A of the Jobseeker’s (Northern Ireland) Order 1995 (the 1995 Order) (schemes for assisting persons to obtain employment: “work for your benefit” schemes etc.) to be exercised by other persons.
Section 26(1) amends the 1995 Order and section 26(2) inserts a new Article 22E into that Order. Article 22E of the 1995 Order allows the Department to make regulations which enable persons to be authorised to exercise functions of the Department and the Department for Employment and Learning.
