Visits by legal advisers66

A prisoner shall be entitled to receive a visit from his or her legal adviser at any reasonable time for the purposes of consulting about any legal matter in which the prisoner is or may be directly interested.

Where a prisoner receives a visit by a legal adviser in terms of this rule the visit–
a
may take place within the sight of an officer; but
b
shall take place outwith the hearing of any officer.

A legal adviser may use sound recording equipment to record the discussions with the prisoner during a visit in terms of this rule, subject to such conditions as the Governor may specify.
