These Regulations are made under section 12 of the Children Act 2004 and revoke the Children Act 2004 Information Database (England) Regulations 2007 (“the ContactPoint Regulations”) and the Children Act 2004 Information Database (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2010, which amended the ContactPoint Regulations. These Regulations also revoke other provisions which amended the ContactPoint Regulations.
The ContactPoint Regulations came into force on 31st July 2007 and made provision in relation to the establishment and operation of the database of information about children in England known as ContactPoint. ContactPoint was closed down on 6th August 2010 and the data has been destroyed. The revocation of the ContactPoint Regulations reflects the closure of the database.
An impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as the impact on the public, private and voluntary sectors is negligible, due to the fact that the database has already been closed down.
