LXV Noxious Matters not to be placed in the River. U.K.

Every Person who at any Time lays or places in the River, or allows to fall or run or flow into the River, any hot Lime, or Refuse of Gasworks, or Products thereof, or Prussiate of Potash, or any Water in which Green Flax has been steeped, or any Matter or Thing which shall poison or kill any Salmon or Smolt, shall for every such First Offence be liable to a Penalty not exceeding [F1£25][F1level 1 on the standard scale], and for every subsequent Offence shall be liable to a Penalty not exceeding [F1£25][F1level 1 on the standard scale], and to a daily Penalty of Two Pounds for every Day during which such Offence is continued.
