Save as otherwise expressly provided, a public notice required to be given by a local authority shall be given—

a

by posting the notice in some conspicuous place or places within the area of the local authority; and

b

in such other manner, if any, as appears to the local authority to be desirable for giving publicity to the notice.

A public notice given by a community council must, in addition to the requirements imposed by subsection (1), be published electronically.

In subsection (1) above “local authority” includes a joint authority, F2an economic prosperity board, a combined authorityF6... This section shall apply to a public notice required to be given by the chairman of a parish meeting as it applies to public notices required to be given by a parish council.
