15Deferred payment of customs duty

The Commissioners may by regulations provide for the payment of customs duty to be deferred in such cases as may be specified by the regulations and subject to such conditions as may be imposed by or under the regulations ; and duty of which payment is deferred under the regulations shall be treated, for such purposes as may be specified thereby, as if it had been paid.

Regulations under this section may make different provision for goods of different descriptions or for goods of the same description in different circumstances.

Section 34 (1A) of the [1952 c. 44.] Customs and Excise Act 1952 and section 16(6) of the [1975 c. 45.] Finance (No. 2) Act 1975 (which are superseded by this section) shall cease to have effect on the coming into force of the first regulations under this section.

16Continuation of powers under Finance Act 1961 s. 9

The period after which orders of the Treasury under section 9 of the [1961 c. 36.] Finance Act 1961 may not be made or continue in force (which, by section 7 of the Finance (No. 2) Act 1975, was extended until the end of August 1976) shall extend until the end of August 1977 or such later date as Parliament may hereafter determine.
