(1)Schedule 2 to this Act (which contains amendments consequential on the provisions of this Act, transitional provisions and savings) shall have effect; and the provisions of that Schedule are without prejudice to sections 16 and 17 of the M1Interpretation Act 1978 (which relate to repeals).
(2)Subject to the provisions of Schedule 2 to this Act, the enactments and instruments specified in Schedule 3 to this Act are hereby repealed or, as the case may be, revoked to the extent specified in the third column of Schedule 3.

20 Short title, commencement and extent.U.K.
(1)This Act may be cited as the Industrial Development Act 1982.
(2)This Act shall come into force on the expiration of the period of three months beginning with its passing.
(3)This Act extends to England and Wales and, except for section 14, to Scotland; but only the following provisions of this Act extend to Northern Ireland, that is to say, Part III, sections 11[F3, 12 and 13A], and this section and (so far as they relate to enactments which extend to Northern Ireland) sections 15[F4, 16] and 19 and Schedules 2 and 3.
