2 Short title, repeals, commencement and extent.E+W
(1)This Act may be cited as the Protection of Animals (Penalties) Act 1987.
(2)The following enactments are repealed—
(a)the M1Protection of Animals Act (1911) Amendment Act 1912;
(b)in Schedule 6 to the M2Criminal Law Act 1977, the entry relating to the Protection of Animals Act 1911.
(3)This Act shall come into force at the end of the period of two months beginning with the day on which it is passed.
(4)This Act does not extend to Scotland or Northern Ireland.
