53(1)In section 1 of the Development of Rural Wales Act 1976 (establishment and general function of Development Board for Rural Wales)—
(a)in subsection (2), for “the county of Powys and the districts of Ceredigion and Meirionnydd” substitute “ the area for which it was so responsible immediately before 1st April 1996 ”; and
(b)in subsection (4), in paragraphs (a) and (b), for “and of each district” substitute “ or county borough ”.
(2)In section 34 of that Act (interpretation), in the definition of “local authority” in subsection (1), for “of a district” substitute “ or county borough ”.
(3)In paragraph 3(3)(a) of Schedule 1 to that Act (constitution etc of the Development Board for Rural Wales), for “and of each district” substitute “ or county borough ”.
(4)In Schedule 3 to that Act (the new towns code)—
(a)omit paragraph 1(6); and
(b)in paragraph 38(2)—
(i)in sub-paragraph (i), for “district planning authority in whose area the land is situated” substitute “ local planning authority ”; and
(ii)in sub-paragraph (ii), at the end add “if they are not the local planning authority”.
