Employment Act 2002

European Convention on Human Rights

228.Section 19 of the Human Rights Act 1998 requires the Minister in charge of a Act in either House of Parliament to make a statement about the compatibility of the provisions of the Act with the Convention rights (as defined by section 1 of that Act). On 11th February 2002 Lord Sainsbury of Turville made the following statement:

229.In my view the provisions of the Employment Act are compatible with the Convention rights.
