Section 99 (certain functions in relation to merger notices) is amended as follows.

In subsection (1), for “the period for considering any merger notice begins” substitute “the initial period (within the meaning of section 34ZA) begins in relation to the merger notice”.

In subsection (5), for “the period for considering any merger notice” substitute “the initial period (within the meaning of section 34ZA) in relation to a merger notice”.
