12 Spreading of myxomatosis.E+W+S

A person shall be guilty of an offence if he knowingly uses or permits the use of a rabbit infected with myxomatosis to spread the disease among uninfected rabbits and shall be liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding twenty pounds or, if he has been previously convicted of such an offence, a fine not exceeding fifty pounds:

Provided that this section shall not render unlawful [F1any procedure duly authorised under the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986].

C1S. 12 has effect as if the maximum fines there mentioned were fines not exceeding level 3 on the standard scale by virtue of (E.W.) 1977 c. 45, s. 31, Sch. 6, 1982 c. 48, s. 46 and (S.) 1975 c. 21, s. 289C, Sch. 7C (which 1975 Act was repealed (1.4.1996) by 1995 c. 40, ss. 6, 7(2), Sch. 5) and (1.4.1996) (S.) by virtue of 1995 c. 40, ss. 3, 7(2), Sch. 1 para. 3(1), Sch. 2 Pt. II.
