137Provisions as to the Land Registry Act, 1862.

No application for the registration of an estate under the Land Registry Act of 1862 shall be entertained.

The Lord Chancellor may, by order, provide for the registration under this Act, without cost to the parties interested, of all titles registered under the [25 & 26 Vict. c. 53.] Land Registry Act, 1862, and care shall be taken in such order to protect any rights acquired in pursuance of registration under such last-mentioned Act, and any order so made by the Lord Chancellor shall have the same effect as if it were enacted in this Act; and until such estate is registered under this Act, the Act of 1862 shall apply thereto in the same manner as if this Act had not been passed.

The officers of the land registry shall for all the purposes of the Land Registry Act, 1862, so far as it remains in operation, and for all the purposes of the [27 & 28 Vict. c. 114.] Improvement of Land Act, 1864, and of the [28 & 29 Vict. c. 78.] Mortgage Debenture Act, 1865, be deemed to be officers acting under the Land Registry Act, 1862, and having to discharge the duties belonging to officers acting under those Acts as occasion may require.
