Universities (Scotland) Act 1858

1858 Chapter 83

All Act to make Provision for tine better Government and Discipline of the Universities of Scotland, and improving and regulating the Course of Study therein; and for the Union of the Two Universities and Colleges of Aberdeen.

WHEREAS it is expedient for the Advancement of Religion and Learning to make Provision for the better Government and Discipline of the Universities in Scotland, viz., the Universities of St. Andrew's, Glasgow, Aberdeen, and Edinburgh, and for improving and regulating the Course of Study therein :

Be it enacted by the Queen's most Excellent Majesty, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the Authority of the same, as follows :
