An Act to amend the Places of Worship Sites Act, 1873.
[12th July 1882]
WHEREAS by the [36 & 37 Vict. c. 50.] Places of Worship Sites Act, 1873, facilities are afforded for the conveyance of pieces of land not exceeding in quantity one acre for sites for places of religious worship and for burial places, but doubts have been entertained whether conveyances can be made under that Act by corporations and public bodies, and it is expedient to remove such doubts:
And whereas cases have arisen in which tenants for life are unable to make conveyances under the said Act by reason that the person next entitled to the manor or lands for a beneficial interest in fee simple or fee tail is unborn or unascertained; and it is expedient to grant increased facilities for making such conveyances:
Be it therefore enacted by the Queen's most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows :
