The Lord Chancellor, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 15 of the Justices of the Peace Act 1949, as extended by section 122 of the Magistrates' Courts Act 1952, and sections 2(3) and (4), 3(5)(b) and (c), (6A) and (6C), 5(2), 6(2), (3), (6), and (9), 8(5) and (6), 9(3), 10(1) to (5) and (7), 14(1), 16(1) and 18(1) of the Maintenance Orders (Reciprocal Enforcement) Act 1972, as extended by Article 3 of the Reciprocal Enforcement of Maintenance Orders (Republic of Ireland) Order 1974(1) (which sections are set out in Schedule 2 to that Order) and after consultation with the Rule Committee appointed under the said section 15, hereby makes the following Rules:—
