In exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 65(7) of the Criminal Law Act 1977, I hereby make the following Order:—

1.  This Order may be cited as the Criminal Law Act 1977 (Commencement No. 1) Order 1977.

2.  The provisions of the Criminal Law Act 1977 specified in column 1 of the Schedule to this Order (which relate to the matters specified in column 2 thereof) shall come into force on 8th September 1977.

APPENDIX APROVISIONS OF SCHEDULE 12 TO THE CRIMINAL LAW ACT 1977 COMING INTO FORCE ON 8TH SEPTEMBER 1977

So much of Schedule 12 as amends the following enactments:—

  • The Offences Against the Person Act 1861 (c. 100).

  • The Explosive Substances Act 1883 (c. 3).

  • The Criminal Justice Act 1948 (c. 58).

  • Paragraphs 14 and 15 of Part II of Schedule 2 to the Sexual Offences Act 1956 (c. 69).

  • The Adoption Act 1958 (c. 5).

  • Section 169 of the Licensing Act 1964 (c. 26).

  • The Housing Act 1964 (c. 56).

  • The Housing (Scotland) Act 1966 (c. 49).

  • Section 8(7) of the Gaming Act 1968 (c. 65).

  • Section 13(3) of the Children and Young Persons Act 1969 (c. 54).

  • Sections 15(2) and 17(3) of and paragraph 9 of Schedule 3 to the Powers of Criminal Courts Act 1973 (c. 62).

  • The Adoption Act 1976 (c. 36).

  • Sections 3(8) and 5 of the Bail Act 1976 (c. 63).
