Article 2 of this Order designates the sports grounds specified therein as sports grounds requiring safety certificates under the Safety of Sports Grounds Act 1975. That Act was amended by Schedule 2 to the Fire Safety and Safety of Places of Sport Act 1987 (which was brought into force on 1st January 1988 by S.I. 1987/1762) so that references to sports grounds were substituted for the references to sports stadia.

Article 3 varies the Order referred to therein by omitting an entry in respect of a place that is no longer a sports ground.
