1. For the purpose of connecting the trunk road with another highway, so as to effect a junction at the place stated in the Schedule to this Order, the Secretary of State is authorised to construct a new highway along the route described in that Schedule. That new highway shall become a trunk road as from the date when this Order comes into force.
2. The centre line of the new trunk road is indicated by a heavy black line on the deposited plan.
3. In this Order—
(i)“the deposited plan” | means the plan folio numbered HA10/2E/262, marked “The A604 Catthorpe—Harwich Trunk Road (Catthorpe to Rothwell Section and Slip Roads) Supplementary Order 1990”, containing one map, signed by authority of the Secretary of State and deposited at the Department of Trans-port, Romney House, 43 Marsham Street, London SW1P 3PY; |
(ii)“the trunk road” | means the trunk road to be provided in pursuance of article 1(a) of the A604 Catthorpe—Harwich Trunk Road (Catthorpe to Rothwell Section and Slip Roads) Order 1987(3); |
(iii)“the new trunk road” | means the new highway mentioned in article 1 of this Order. |
4. This Order shall come into force on 24th January 1991 and may be cited as the A604 Catthorpe—Harwich Trunk Road (Catthorpe to Rothwell Section and Slip Roads) Supplementary Order 1990.

A route, numbered 1 on the deposited plan, which bifurcates to connect the westbound carriageway of the trunk road with the A50 Northampton Road (as proposed to be improved) at Portly Ford Bridge, Cold Ashby, in the County of Northamptonshire.
