Whereas the Secretary of State has granted to Diamond Cable (Newark)Limited on 27th March 1991 a licence (“the Licence”) under section 7 of the Telecommunications Act 1984(1) (“the Act”), to which section 8 of the Act applies, for the running of thetelecommunication systems specified in Annex A to the Licence (“the Applicable Cabled Systems”):

Now, therefore, the Secretary of State, in exercise of the powersconferred on him by section 9 of the Act, hereby makes the followingOrder:—

1.  This Order may be cited as the Public Telecommunication SystemDesignation (Diamond Cable (Newark) Limited) Order 1991 and shall comeinto force on 10th June 1991.

2.  Each of the Applicable Cabled Systems is hereby designated as apublic telecommunication system.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

The Secretary of State granted to Diamond Cable (Newark) Limited on27th March 1991 a licence under section 7 of the TelecommunicationsAct 1984 to run the telecommunication systems specified in Annex A tothat licence, in the whole of the District of Newark and Sherwood. Acopy of the licence was laid before Parliament on13th May 1991. This Order designates those telecommunication systemsas public telecommunication systems. Consequently, by virtue of section9(3) of that Act, Diamond Cable (Newark) Limited will be a publictelecommunications operator when the Order comes into force on10th June 1991.

A copy of the licence may be obtained from the Office of Telecommunications, Export House, 50 Ludgate Hill, London EC4M 7JJ.
