The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, the Secretary of State for Scotland and the secretary of State for Wales, acting jointly, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 84(1) of the Animal Health Act 1981(1) and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, with the approval of the Treasury, hereby make the following Order:

Citation, extent and commencement

1.  This Order, which may be cited as the Diseases of Animals (Fees for the Testing of Disinfectants) Order 1991, shall apply to Great Britain and shall come into force on 1st June 1991.

Fees for the testing of disinfectants

2.—(1) Subject to paragraph (2) below, a person who submits a disinfectant for testing in accordance with article 7 of the Diseases of Animals (Approved Disinfectants) Order 1978(2) shall pay to the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food the fees prescribed in the Schedule to this Order.

(2) Until 1st August 1991 the fee payable in respect of each testing of a disinfectant for efficacy against Foot and Mouth Disease shall be £168.00 and the fee payable in respect of each testing of a disinfectant for efficacy against Swine Vesicular Disease shall be £219.00.

Revocation

3.  The Diseases of Animals (fees for the Testing of Disinfectants) Order 1981(3) is hereby revoked.

In witness whereof the Official Seal of the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food is hereunto affixed on 7th May 1991.

SCHEDULEFEES PAYABLE FOR THE TESTING OF DISINFECTANTS SUBMITTED FOR LISTING AS APPROVED DISINFECTANTS

Note: the figures in brackets are those payable before 1st June 1991 in respect of paragraphs 1, 2, 5 6 and 7 and 1st August 1991 in respect of paragraphs 3 and 4.

1.  The fee payable for administrative services in respect of each submission for testing of a disinfectant (whether for one, or for more than one, test) shall be

£134.00(£57.00)

2.  The fee payable for each testing of a disinfectant for identity, corrosive effect and stability shall be

£321.00(163.00)

3.  The fee payable for each testing of a disinfectant for efficacy against Foot and Mouth Disease shall be

£381.00(£168.00)

4.  The fee payable for each testing of a disinfectant for efficacy against Swine Vesicular Disease shall be

£381.00(£219.00)

5.  The fee payable for each testing of a disinfectant for efficacy against fowl pest shall be—

(a)in the case of a single dilution test

£385.00(£200.00)

(b)in the case of a multiple dilution test

£508.00(£263.00)

6.  The fee payable for each testing of a disinfectant for efficacy against Tuberculosis shall be

£247.00(£132.00)

7.  The fee payable for each testing of a disinfectant for efficacy against a disease of animals other than those mentioned in paragraphs 3 to 6 above shall be

£247.00(£132.00)

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order prescribes revised fees payable for the testing of disinfectants for the purpose of determining their suitability for listing as approved disinfectants in Schedule 1 to the Diseases of Animals (Approved Disinfectants) Order 1978.
