This Order brings into force all the provisions of the Prisoners and Criminal Proceedings (Scotland) Act 1993 which are not already in force by virtue of section 48 of that Act, as follows:–the provisions listed in Schedule 1 to the Order come into force on 18th August 1993 (article 3(2));the provisions listed in Schedule 2 to the Order come into force on 18th September 1993 (article 3(3));all the provisions of the Act insofar as they are not in force immediately before 1st October 1993 come into force on that date, with the exception of those mentioned in article 3(5) (article 3(4)); andthe provisions specified in article 3(5) of the Order come into force on 1st January 1994 (article 3(5)).

In this Order–
“the Act” means the Prisoners and Criminal Proceedings (Scotland) Act 1993.
