The Motor Vehicles (EC Type Approval) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 1993 No. 2198

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations amend Schedule 1 to the Motor Vehicles (EC Type Approval) Regulations 1992. The 1992 Regulations implemented Council Directive 92/53/EEC which relates to the type approval of motor vehicles and their trailers.

These Regulations are made in consequence of Council Directive 93/59/EEC which further amends Council Directive 70/220/EEC relating to measures to be taken against air pollution by emissions from motor vehicles.

Copies of the EEC Directives which are relevant to these Regulations can be obtained from Her Majesty’s Stationery Office. The details of the Directives are set out below.
