(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order specifies Glasgow Caledonian University as competent to grant degrees, diplomas, certificates or other academic awards or distinctions, including honorary degrees and degrees to members of staff.

The University can grant awards and distinctions to persons who completed on or after 1st September 1992 courses or programmes of research at its predecessor, Glasgow Polytechnic, or which were approved by Glasgow Polytechnic for the purpose of grants of awards or distinctions by it. The latter category includes in particular courses or programmes at The Queen’s College, Glasgow. Otherwise its competence applies only to courses or programmes of research completed on or after 1st April 1993, the date of its establishment.
