The City of Manchester (Mancunian Way A635(M) and A57(M) Mancunian Way Slip Roads) Special Road Scheme 1992 Confirmation Instrument 1995

The Secretary of State for Transport makes this Instrument in exercise of powers conferred by section 16 of the Highways Act 1980(1) and now vested in him(2) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf:

1.  This Instrument may be cited as “The City of Manchester (Mancunian Way A635(M) and A57(M) Mancunian Way Slip Roads) Special Road Scheme 1992 Confirmation Instrument 1995”and shall come into force on the date on which notice that it has been confirmed is first published in accordance with paragraph 1 of Schedule 2 to the Highways Act 1980.

2.  The City of Manchester (Mancunian Way A635(M) and A57(M) Mancunian Way Slip Roads) Special Road Scheme 1992 (“the Scheme”) is hereby confirmed with modifications.

3.  The Scheme as confirmed is set out in the Schedule hereto and copies of the Scheme with its accompanying plans as modified are deposited at the offices of the Department of Transport and at the offices of the Council of the City of Manchester at the Town Hall, Albert Square, Manchester, M60 2LA.

THE SCHEDULETHE CITY OF MANCHESTER (MANCUNIAN WAY A635(M) AND A57(M) MANCUNIAN WAY SLIP ROADS) SPECIAL ROAD SCHEME 1992

The Council of the City of Manchester make this Scheme in exercise of their powers under sections 16 & 17 of the Highways Act 1980 and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf:

1.  The Council are authorised to provide along the route described in the Schedule to this Scheme a special road for the use of traffic of Classes I and II of the classes of traffic set out in Schedule 4 to the Highways Act 1980 as amended.

2.  The centre line of the special road is indicated by a heavy black line on the deposited plan.

3.  In this Scheme:—

“the Council”means the Council of the City of Manchester
“the deposited plan”means the plan numbered A1/5552/463/963 marked “The City of Manchester (Mancunian Way A635(M) and A57(M) Mancunian Way Slip Roads) Special Road Scheme 1992”sealed with the Common Seal of the Council and deposited at the offices of the Council at the Town Hall Manchester. A certified copy is also deposited at the Department of Transport
“the special road”means the special road mentioned in Article 1 of this Scheme

4.  The Scheme may be cited as “The City of Manchester (Mancunian Way A635(M) and A57(M) Mancunian Way Slip Roads) Special Road Scheme 1992”.

THE SCHEDULE TO THE SCHEMETHE ROUTE OF THE SPECIAL ROAD

A route, commencing at A57(M) Mancunian Way at its junction with A6 London Road and Downing Street Roundabout and proceeding in an easterly direction for a distance of 290 metres to A635(M) Mancunian Way together with the eastbound off-slip road connecting the eastbound carriageway of A57(M) Mancunian Way with A6 London Road, a distance of 280 metres and the westbound on-slip road connecting the westbound carriageway of A57(M) Mancunian Way, a distance of 280 metres.

THE COMMON SEAL of THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MANCHESTER was hereunto affixed in pursuance of an Order of the Council of the said City:—
