The Social Security Benefits Up-rating Order 1996

Made6th March 1996

Coming into force in accordance with article 1(2)

Whereas, the Secretary of State for Social Security having made a review under section 150(1) of the Social Security Administration Act 19921, a draft of the following Order was laid before Parliament in accordance with the provisions of section 150(2) and section 190(1)(a) of that Act and approved by resolution of each House of Parliament;

Now, therefore, the Secretary of State for Social Security, with the consent of the Treasury2, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by sections 150 and 189(1), (3) and (4) of the Social Security Administration Act 1992, and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:
