1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Education (National Curriculum) (Assessment Arrangements for Key Stages 1, 2 and 3) (England) (Amendment) Order 1997 and shall come into force on 1st October 1997.
(2) In this Order—
“QCA” means the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority established under section 21 of the Education Act 1997(1);
“SCAA” means the School Curriculum and Assessment Authority established under section 244 of the Education Act 1993(2) and continued in existence by section 358 of the Education Act 1996;
“the effective date” means the date on which this Order comes into force;
“the principal Orders” means the Education (National Curriculum) (Assessment Arrangements for the Core Subjects) (Key Stage 1) (England) Order 1995(3), the Education (National Curriculum) (Assessment Arrangements for the Core Subjects) (Key Stage 2) (England) Order 1995(4) and the Education (National Curriculum) (Key Stage 3) (Assessment Arrangements) (England) Order 1996(5).
1993 c. 35; section 244 was repealed by section 582(2) of and Part I of Schedule 38 to the Education Act 1996.
