The A127 Trunk Road (M25 To Rayleigh Section and Slip Roads) (Detrunking) Order 1997

The Secretary of State for Transport makes this Order in exercise of powers conferred by sections 10 and 12 of the Highways Act 1980(1) and now vested in him(2), and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf:—

1.  This Order may be cited as the A127 Trunk Road (M25 to Rayleigh Section and Slip Roads) (Detrunking) Order 1997 and shall come into force on 27th March 1997.

2.  In this Order—

(i)“principal road” as a classification for a highway, means that the highway is a principal road for the purposes of enactments or instruments which refer to highways classified as principal roads and is also classified for the purpose of every other enactment and instrument which refers to highways classified by the Secretary of State;

(ii)“the trunk road” means the A127 Trunk Road; and

(iii)“the slip roads” means the slip roads described in the Schedule to this Order.

3.  The length of the trunk road and the lengths of the slip roads shall cease to be trunk roads and shall be classified as principal roads from the date when this Order comes into force.

THE SCHEDULELENGTHS OF TRUNK ROAD AND SLIP ROADS CEASINGTO BE TRUNK ROADS

The lengths of the trunk road and slip roads ceasing to be trunk roads are shown by broad black dashes on the plan numbered SNPR96/20, marked “The A127 Trunk Road (M25 to Rayleigh Section and Slip Roads) (Detrunking) Order 1997”, signed by authority of the Secretary of State for Transport and deposited at the Department of Transport, Great Minster House, Marsham Street, London SW1P 4DR. They are—

(a)the trunk road between the M25 Motorway and the Southend-on-Sea Borough Council boundary, a distance of 24.24 kilometres, and

(b)the routes of the slip roads given the reference numbers 1 to 30 on the deposited plan, as follows:—

1.

A route about 230 metres in length forming the “on” slip road from the roundabout forming the junction with the M25 Motorway at Junction 29 to the east bound carriageway of the trunk road.

2.

A route about 290 metres in length forming the “off” slip road from the west bound carriageway of the trunk road to the roundabout at Junction 29 of the M25.

3.

A route about 210 metres in length forming the “off” slip road from the east bound carriageway of the trunk road to the junction with the B186 (Warley Street).

4.

A route about 160 metres in length forming the “on” slip road from the junction with the B186 (Warley Street) to the east bound carriageway of the trunk road.

5.

A route about 150 metres in length forming the “on” slip road from the junction with the B186 (Warley Street) to the west bound carriageway of the trunk road.

6.

A route about 200 metres in length forming the “off” slip road from the west bound carriageway of the trunk road to the junction with the B186 (Warley Street).

7.

A route about 430 metres in length forming the “off” slip road from the east bound carriageway of the trunk road to the junction with the A128.

8.

A route about 400 metres in length forming the “on” slip road from the junction with the A128 to the east bound carriageway of the trunk road.

9.

A route about 460 metres in length forming the “on” slip road from the junction with the A128 to the west bound carriageway of the trunk road.

10.

A route about 320 metres in length forming the “off” slip road from the west bound carriageway of the trunk road to the junction with the A128.

11.

A route about 250 metres in length forming the “off” slip road from the east bound carriageway of the trunk road to the junction with the B148.

12.

A route about 210 metres in length forming the “on” slip road from the junction with the B148 to the east bound carriageway of the trunk road.

13.

A route about 290 metres in length forming the “on” slip road from the junction with the B148 to the west bound carriageway of the trunk road.

14.

A route about 240 metres in length forming the “off” slip road from the west bound carriageway of the trunk road to the junction with the B148.

15.

A route about 240 metres in length forming the “off” slip road from the east bound carriageway of the trunk road to the junction with the A176 (South Wash Road).

16.

A route about 240 metres in length forming the “on” slip road from the junction with the A176 (South Wash Road) to the east bound carriageway of the trunk road.

17.

A route about 260 metres in length forming the “on” slip road from the junction with the A176 to the west bound carriageway of the trunk road.

18.

A route about 220 metres in length forming the “off” slip road from the west bound carriageway of the trunk road to the junction with the A176.

19.

A route about 350 metres in length forming the “off” slip road from the east bound carriageway of the trunk road to the junction with the A132.

20.

A route about 260 metres in length forming the “on” slip road from the junction with the A132 to the east bound carriageway of the trunk road.

21.

A route about 410 metres in length forming the “on” slip road from the junction with the A132 to the west bound carriageway of the trunk road.

22.

A route about 450 metres in length forming the “off” slip road from the west bound carriageway of the trunk road to the junction with the A132.

23.

A route about 190 metres in length forming the “off” slip road from the east bound carriageway of the trunk road to the junction with the A130.

24.

A route about 360 metres in length forming the “on” slip road from the junction with the A130 to the east bound carriageway of the trunk road.

25.

A route about 130 metres in length forming the “on” slip road from the junction with the A130 to the west bound carriageway of the trunk road.

26.

A route about 270 metres in length forming the “off” slip road from the west bound carriageway of the trunk road to the junction with the A130.

27.

A route about 290 metres in length forming the “off” slip road from the east bound carriageway of the trunk road to the junction with the A129 (High Road).

28.

A route about 140 metres in length forming the “on” slip road from Brook Road to the east bound carriageway of the trunk road.

29.

A route about 270 metres in length forming the “on” slip road from the junction with the A129 to the west bound carriageway of the trunk road.

30.

A route about 270 metres in length forming the “off” slip road from the west bound carriageway of the trunk road to the junction with the A129.
