CUSTOMS AND EXCISE

The Export of Goods (Control) (Amendment No. 6) Order 1999

Coming into force

5th January 2000

The Secretary of State, in exercise of powers conferred by section 1 of the Import, Export and Customs Powers (Defence) Act 1939(1) and now vested in him(2), hereby makes the following Order:

1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Export of Goods (Control) (Amendment No. 6) Order 1999 and shall come into force on 5th January 2000.

(2) In this Order, the “principal Order” means the Export of Goods (Control) Order 1994(3).

2.  In Part 1 of Schedule 1 to the principal Order—

(a)in the heading of Group 3, the words from “Bosnia and Herzgovina” to the word “or” shall be deleted, and

(b)the following new group shall be added after Group 3:

GROUP 4BROADCASTING EQUIPMENT

1.  The export of goods specified in this Group is prohibited to any destination in the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.

Electronic equipment specially designed for television broadcast or television news gathering, as follows, and specially designed components therefor:

(a)Cameras;

(b)Transmitters, codecs and transposers;

(c)Satellite earth stations, and, up- and down-link equipment;

(d)Transmission link and relay equipment..
