In exercise of the power conferred upon him by section 44 of the Vehicles (Crime) Act 2001(1), the Secretary of State hereby makes the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Vehicle (Crime) Act 2001 (Commencement No. 1) Order 2001.
2. Section 37 of the Vehicles (Crime) Act 2001 (taking a conveyance without authority: extension of prosecution time-limits) shall come into force on 1st October 2001.

This Order brings into force on 1st October 2001 section 37 of the Vehicles (Crime) Act 2001 which extends the time-limits in which the prosecution can commence proceedings for an offence of taking a conveyance without authority.
